Volunteer Needs
Adult Mentors

Adult Mentors are needed as matches to students who need a little extra encouragement and support to succeed in school.  Positive adult role models meet about once per week with a student to help set goals, acknowledge their successes, share experiences, and broaden their world. The school social workers and teachers provide support and assistance for the volunteer mentors.

Professional Mentors, Guest Speakers, or Career Shadow Volunteers

Professional Mentors, Guest Speakers, or Career Shadow Volunteers are needed to meet with students to share knowledge and expertise in a career or interest area. High school students often seek opportunities to visit, discuss, and observe tasks, responsibilities, and issues within a career area.

Academic Coaches/Tutors

Academic Coaches/Tutors are needed to work one-on-one or with small groups of students who may need a little extra help and confidence building in reading, math, writing, science, etc.  Training is provided for volunteers interested in these opportunities.

Parent Organization Program volunteers

Parent Organization Program volunteers are needed in every school to assist with events, fundraisers, and programs that enhance the education process including social family events, concessions, Book Fairs, classroom support, athletics, performing arts, work room duties, teacher appreciation meals, etc.
