Welcome to the Howard-Suamico School District
The Open Enrollment space allotment for the 2020-21 school year will be posted in January 2020.
Open Enrollment Information
The State of Wisconsin Open Enrollment Program allows parents to apply for their children to attend a non-resident school district at no cost to them other than providing their own transportation for their students to and from school. All students that want to attend the Howard-Suamico School District, would need to submit an application on the DPI website during the three-month application period (Feb. 3 – April 30 at 4:00 pm).
Open Enrollment is only an option, not a guarantee. Parents are encouraged to review the 2020-21 Open Enrollment space availability by grade level and programs prior to submitting the online application. The online application link will be available by clicking on the orange link above. You will be directed to the DPI webpage.
After the application period deadline (April 30, 4 p.m.) both the resident and non-resident districts must approve the request. Parents will be notified in May of acceptance/denial status via US mail.
Part Time Open Enrollment:
A student enrolled in a public school in the high school grade levels may attend public school in a nonresident school district for the purpose of taking a course offered by the nonresident school district.
2019-20 Alternative Open Enrollment
Parents normally apply for open enrollment for the following school year during a three-moth application period which begins in February and ends on the last weekday in April. However, 2011 Act 114 established a procedure by which parents may apply for open enrollment outside of the regular application period. If you wish to find out more about this option contact Tracy Hibbard, District Registrar/Open Enrollment Coordinator at (920) 662-8860. Additional information regarding alternative open enrollment can also be found at the DPI website or at the links below.
Print the form and complete for each child. In addition, provide a short statement as to why you would like your child to attend the Howard-Suamico School District. Submit these documents to the District Office at 2706 Lineville Rd, or email to: email@example.com. Parents/legal guardians will be notified of decision within two weeks.
Parent/legal guardian that move out of the Howard-Suamico School District during the school year and want their child to continue attending the district for the remainder of the current school year, need to complete and submit a Tuition Waiver Form.
Print the Tuition Waiver Form, complete, and submit to the District Office. In addition, parent/legal guardian that want their child to continue attending for future school years, will also need to apply for open enrollment.
