About Superintendent Mark Smith

Dr. Mark Smith started in the Superintendent role on July 1, 2024. His first year at HSSD was 2016. He served as HSSD Deputy Superintendent from 2019-2024, as HSSD Assistant Superintendent of Organizational Development (HR) from 2016-2019, and, prior to HSSD, in a variety of executive leadership positions at the Green Bay Area Public School District. He, his wife Stephanie, and children Gavin and Sadie are proud to be involved Howard-Suamico residents. Be sure to say hello when you see them in the community!

“The Howard-Suamico School District is a special place with a unique story to tell. It has been my family’s home for nearly 20 years, my kids love the opportunities the district provides, and we have found such joy being part of this community. This opportunity is a dream come true and it is my privilege to step into the space as leader of this incredible organization, in partnership with our students,
families, staff, and community.”
