The HSSD Board of Education approves the number of available seats during the January Board of Education meeting each year. Students are selected through a lottery and will be notified no later than June 6, 2025.

A student enrolled in a public school (high school grade levels) may attend public school in a nonresident school district for the purpose of taking a course offered by the nonresident school district.

DPI - Alternative Open Enrollment Application Information

Parents apply for open enrollment during the Open Enrollment application period, which runs February-April. However, 2011 Act 114 established a procedure by which parents may apply for open enrollment outside of the regular application period. Alternative Open Enrollment begins July 1 each year.

If you moved outside of the HSSD boundary and want your child to continue attending the district, additional paperwork may be required.

• Step 1: Contact registration@hssdschools.org to determine which paperwork is required. 
• Step 2: If directed to complete the Tuition Waiver form, please print and return the completed form below to registration@hssdschools.org.

Transportation for open enrolled students is the responsibility of the parent/guardian. For additional information regarding qualifications for transportation reimbursement, please visit the WI Department of Public Instruction website.
