Text Messages from HSSD

HSSD uses School Messenger, a communications system to send school-related phone calls, emails and text messages to parents/guardians. Beginning October 1, 2025, HSSD will be moving to a Single SMS Opt-in for our School Messenger notification system. This means that you are automatically opted-in to receive texts from HSSD. On October 1, you will receive a welcome text that reads:

“You’re registered 4 SchoolMessenger messages. Txt STOP to quit, HELP 4 help. Std msg/data rates may apply. Freq varies. schoolmessenger.com/tm”

If you have already opted-in to receiving text messages from HSSD, you do not need to take any action, and should not receive this welcome text. 

Texting is a quick and timely way to inform parents/guardians regarding emergency notifications, inclement weather, etc. We will make every attempt to identify our text messages, either by beginning them with “HSSD” or the school name. If you receive a message and the sender is not identified, our text messages will be from the number or short code 67587.

At any time, you can choose to stop receiving text messages by texting “STOP” to 67587 or opt-out online at http://schoolmessenger.com/tm. Scroll to the bottom and fill out the unsubscribe form. Please note, the system does not distinguish between opting out of general messages vs. emergency notifications. Once a parent/guardian opts-out of receiving text messages, they will no longer receive text messages from HSSD or their child’s school, including for school closures or emergencies.
