The Howard-Suamico School District (HSSD) recently earned a Golden Achievement Award and a Publications and Digital Media Award of Excellence for writing from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA).
The 2021 Renew and Invest Referendum Campaign earned a Golden Achievement Award, which recognizes exemplary work in all aspects of school communications. It is the second national award of its kind for HSSD, which also won a Golden Achievement Award in 2019.
The two-question referendum was approved by Howard and Suamico residents on April 6, 2021. Question 1 was an operational referendum, allowing HSSD to exceed the revenue limit by $5 million for five years beginning in 2023-24. Question 2 was a facilities referendum to borrow $98 million to renovate and improve all eight buildings. View the Facilities Update section of the HSSD website.
Paving the Way - the Kira Mevis Story earned an Award of Excellence in Writing. The story featured Mevis, a Bay Port student with a rare genetic disorder, and the loving support system surrounding her. NSPRA Publications and Digital Media Awards recognize outstanding publications in a variety of categories. Read Paving the Way - the Kira Mevis Story.
