Section 504

What is Section 504?

Section 504 refers to a part of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The primary purpose of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is to ensure that persons with disabilities are not discriminated against.

The main emphasis in the schools is equal educational opportunity. This is usually accomplished by providing appropriate classroom accommodations to eligible students with disabilities that are not severe enough to qualify for special education, but which are substantially limiting their learning or other major life activities.

For more information on Section 504, please contact the Student Services Department at 920-662-7881.
