The HSSD School Nutrition team provides nourishing, fun, and locally inspired meals to support student health and learning throughout the school day. We offer a comprehensive food service program that includes breakfast and lunch. Full preparation centers are located at seven of the eight schools in HSSD. Meals are served in accordance with the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program standards to ensure balanced, nutritious options for all students.

In addition to daily breakfast and lunch, a variety of a la carte options are available at Bay Port, Bay View, and Lineville, with an after-school snack line offered at Bay Port. A dinner program is also available at Howard Elementary, providing students with an additional nutritious meal to support their evening needs.

During the summer months, the School Nutrition Department operates a Summer Meals Program at qualifying local parks, ensuring continued access to healthy meals when school is not in session.

Manage Lunch Accounts

Manage your child’s lunch account here. Managing your child's lunch account is quick and easy with MySchoolBucks. This secure online service allows you to add funds, view meal purchases, set spending limits, and receive low-balance alerts—all from your computer or mobile device. Stay connected and ensure your child always has access to nutritious meals.

Payments must be made in advance via check, debit card, or credit card for mealtime purchases. Negative balances are prohibited at the high school level and limited at all other schools. Free and reduced price meals are available for those in need of assistance.

If you have questions about refunds, transfers, or your child's account, please contact Amy Fulmer at amyfulm@hssdschools.org.

Refunds can be made using this form. School Nutrition Funds after deducting any outstanding District school fees will be provided. Please complete and return this form to ensure timely processing. Allow for up to 6 weeks to process.

HSSD School Nutrition Pro Tip!

MySchoolBucks is a fast and convenient way to fund your child’s school meal account.

If you have more than one student enrolled in HSSD, you can save on MySchoolBucks processing fees by adding funds to one student's account and then transfer those funds to other students' accounts at no extra cost.

To help reduce processing fees for both your family and the District, we recommend making one larger transaction instead of multiple smaller ones.

Please note: Payments and transfers may take up to 24 hours to fully process and appear across multiple accounts.

Notes

The School Nutrition department is committed to providing nutritious, appealing meals that support student health and academic success.
This increase is due to inflation, handling and equipment costs, and credit card fees.
There is an 83% increase in food costs from three years ago for a basic meal, such as a hamburger.

We are excited to announce the following updates for 2025-26:

Elementary:

A fresh cheese curd option will be added to the lunch menu
Local maple syrup will be used, eliminating the use of high fructose corn syrup

Secondary:

Scratch-made pizza will be served
New grain and protein options will be served on the salad bar, providing better choices for vegetarians

K-12:

Local hamburger meat from Shawano will be used for spaghetti and hamburgers
Increased variety of fruit options throughout the school year
Supporting local produce within Wisconsin with products from Seasonal Harvest

School Birthday Treats - We Can Help!

If you are looking for a tasty, easy, and allergy-friendly option for school birthday treats, let HSSD School Nutrition help celebrate your child’s birthday in style! Parents now have the option to purchase an individually wrapped chocolate chip cookie from School Nutrition to share with their child’s class.

Here’s what you need to know to make your school birthday celebrations simple and worry-free!

Fill out the form that corresponds with your child’s school:

Be sure you are placing the order three working days before your child’s birthday celebration.
The cost will be $0.50 per cookie.
Once your order is placed, you are done! Your birthday cookies will be delivered to your child’s school/classroom on your chosen date.

We work closely with families, educators, and the community to ensure that our programs promote healthy habits, encourage balanced choices, and support the physical and emotional wellness of every student we serve.
