Registration Dates

Monday, April 20 at 8 a.m. - Off to Kindergarten & Band Classes
Tuesday, April 21 at 8 a.m. - Grades 9-12: Registration begins for students GOING INTO Grades 9-12 ONLY. All High School remediation courses, enrichment, and sports.
Wednesday, April 22 at 4:30 p.m. - Grades 1-4: Registration begins for students GOING INTO Grades 1-4 ONLY. Please note, courses for grades 5-8 will not be available to select or register until 4:30 p.m. on April 23.
Thursday, April 23 at 4:30 p.m. - Grades 5-8: Registration begins for students GOING INTO Grades 5-8 ONLY.

An account must be created before selecting classes. User accounts are NOT kept from year to year. A new account must be created every year.

Summer School Session Times

Period A: 8:00-9:05 a.m.
Period B: 9:05-10:10 a.m.
Period C: 10:10-11:15 a.m.
Period D: 11:15 a.m.-12:20 p.m.

Transportation

Bus transportation for all locations is available at no cost for anyone who would like to use it. Bus transportation includes drop-off to start classes and pick-up at the end of classes (no other options in between). If you missed the deadline to register for transportation, please contact Lamers.

Attendance

Please report student absences to the summer school email at abcsummer@hssdschools.org (this method is preferred). Meals at Bay Port!

The HSSD School Nutrition team is excited for lunch service at Bay Port this summer, offering nutritious and student-friendly meals every day! Learn more about this offering below:

When will meals be served?

Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Monday through Friday at Bay Port when HSSD Summer School is in session.

Who are the meals for?

Lunch service will be available to any student attending HSSD Summer School at Bay Port.

Where will meals be served?

Meals will be served in the lunch line in the cafeteria, but eaten in classrooms at Bay Port. For students taking classes in the athletic wing, there will be a stand-alone cart in front of the athletic wing with meals.

What is the cost for meals?

Student meal accounts will be charged $3.30. Students who are eligible for free or reduced meal benefits during the school year will also be free/reduced during the summer. Meal accounts can be funded through MySchoolBucks or payment with cash/check in the lunch line.

What will be served?

Each day, students can look forward to a variety of hot and cold meal options that are both kid- and teen-friendly, with fun and familiar favorites on the menu. Entrées may include items such as chicken patties, chicken nuggets, pizza selections, and our popular bento-style field trip boxes featuring meat, cheese, fruit, and vegetables.

Every lunch is thoughtfully balanced and comes with a serving of fruit or vegetables and a carton of milk to ensure students receive a nutritious and satisfying meal. Menus will be posted on MealViewer.

Can students purchase à la carte items during lunch?

No. There will be a $1 cash-only snack cart available 10 minutes before Period A (8 a.m.), Period B (9:05 a.m.,) and Period C (10:10 a.m.). Snacks will include a small variety of beverages and prepackaged snacks, and the cart will be located in front of the vending machines in the main commons.

How are these lunch meals different from the Summer Lunch in the Park Program?

Our menu at Bay Port is the same as the meals served in the parks this summer. However, the meals served in the park are part of a different program (federally-funded), which allows us to provide free meals to any child 18 years old or younger. What about Breakfast?

Breakfast bags are offered daily at Bay Port for Summer School students from 7:45 a.m. - 9 a.m.! Breakfast menus will be posted on MealViewer. Student meal accounts will be charged $2.10. Students who are eligible for free or reduced meal benefits during the school year will also be free/reduced during the summer. Meal accounts can be funded through MySchoolBucks or payment with cash/check.
