HOW DO I STAY INFORMED?
Parents have real-time access to their student's academic progress, anytime and anywhere. You can log in to your student's pace report 365 days a year, making it easy to monitor progress. You'll see how many assignments have been submitted and how many are still outstanding, as well as grades and other important information. One-to-one contact between teachers and parents is also strongly encouraged.
WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES?
As a parent of a Bay Port iAcademy student, it's essential to play an active role in your student's education. Student success means regular and active engagement between students, teachers, and parents. Parents of students are required to log in to our website and review their student's pace and progress at least once a week. You can also become involved by volunteering for school-related activities and groups, such as the parent-teacher-student organization.
WILL MY STUDENT BE CHALLENGED?
Absolutely. While Bay Port iAcademy offers flexible scheduling, our program is appropriately rigorous. All coursework is written at our above grade level and always meets state standards. Our students are required to submit daily and weekly assignments, ensuring they complete their coursework within the semester's time frame. All coursework is designed to prepare students for college and set them up for all-around post-secondary success.
COMMUNICATION IS KEY
We strive to keep parents actively engaged in their student's coursework. Our online setting allows for constant communication between parents and teachers.
Your primary contact vehicle is the Bay Port iAcademy website. From our website, you can access your child's grades, pacing chart, and online teachers. Instead of waiting for quarterly progress reports, parents can monitor their student's progress every step of the way.
IT'S EASY TO STAY IN TOUCH
Parents can call, email, or send an instant message to the staff to discuss their student's progress. With so many ways to directly interact with our teachers, it's easy for parents to stay in touch.
**Bay Port iAcademy teachers are not employed by the Howard-Suamico School District and work through Wisconsin Virtual School who provides the online coursework for the iAcademy.
Parents of Bay Port i Academy students are expected to take a front-seat role in their student's education. Our students' success hinges on the active involvement of teachers, parents, and school staff.
With a student enrolled in Bay Port iAcademy, you can rest assured that you're not in it alone. The Wisconsin certified teachers provided by Wisconsin Virtual School (WVS) will continually track your student's progress. If a problem arises, we'll be proactive in finding a solution that works.
We make it easy for parents to stay involved. At least once a week you should log in and monitor your child's progress. The online parent portal for courses makes tracking your child's academic progress simple and convenient.
